After a few years of travelling and working round the world, Helen worked in event management for 10 years in London at two national charities. After moving to Hove, she noticed a community magazine coming through the door and realised its potential for both the community and local businesses. In 2009 there were no local magazines going through the doors in BN16 and All About Angmering was born, followed soon after by ‘All Abouts’ in Rustington, Ferring, East Preston and Littlehampton. With the launch of All About Goring in May 2020, the magazines will be going through more than 31,000 doors along the south coast. Helen also enjoys family time and holidays with her husband, son (18) and daughter (14), running, netball and the odd G&T.
Caroline moved to East Preston from Surrey in 2005 and subsequently moved to Angmering. Her children attended St Wilfrid’s school in Angmering and East Preston Junior School. Caroline recruits and manages the handpicked team of magazine distributors, all who live in the local area. As well as managing the team of distributors, Caroline does many other part time jobs, including respite care for a child with disabilities, gardening, helping Kerry’s Catering with outside catering and caring for an elderly lady. Caroline enjoys a Champneys spa weekend once or twice a year and treats herself to a bunch of flowers every week.
Having worked in staff roles for magazines and websites since finishing university, Amy left full-time employment and started working as a freelance journalist in 2013. She met Helen in 2015 and has been working for the All About magazines ever since. Amy also writes for national newspapers, magazines and websites, and writes a regular column for Simply Knitting magazine. When she’s not working to a deadline, Amy balances time with her friends and family with a voracious reading habit and regular trips to the swimming pool.
Tim designs the majority of adverts in the All About magazines and has over 30 years experience in creative design having worked for a wide variety of clients all over London and the south east. He specialises in creating advertising material that will catch the eye and get a response which is the objective of good advertising. He advises promoting your business in a holistic way and to think long term campaigns rather than isolated appearances as research has shown you will get a much better response if your ad is a regular feature. Stats have shown that an average individual has to view a piece of promotion at least 7 times before they act on it so repetition is the key to getting better results. Tim originated in Haywards Heath but spent most of his childhood in East and West Africa due to his father working for a London based international advertising agency. Tim now lives and works in East Preston and has 2 children. He is a keen photographer and artist and enjoys walking in the beautiful Sussex countryside and of course visiting the Clockhouse bar now and again…
